18 April (Saturday) – Natsumero Kissa
As Mr D was away, we had a special programme this time, singing 1960s Japanese songs continuously along with the lyrics displayed on the screen.
There were 18 participants, including volunteers. During the break, everyone enjoyed delicious homemade sweets prepared by volunteers and participants, as well as snacks brought to share.
In the second half, we continued singing nostalgic Japanese songs without a break. To finish the session, Ms K led everyone in two traditional Japanese Bon Odori dances, Tankō Bushi and Tokyo Ondo. Everyone sang and danced together, making it a fun and lively afternoon.

19 April (Sunday) – Wyndham Makers & Farmers Market
We had a fundraising stall at the Wyndham Makers & Farmers Market at Werribee Racecourse.
The weather was beautiful, and as it was the last weekend of the school holidays, the market was especially busy with families. There was also a travelling amusement park, pony rides and even camels, which added to the fun atmosphere.

19 April (Sunday) – MelJoy
We were blessed with beautiful weather for our MelJoy outing.
As usual, we met at 10:00 am in front of Flinders Street Station and took the Metro Tunnel, arriving at Footscray Station at 10:26 am.
We wanted to give everyone a chance to see the newly opened Footscray Hospital, so we took a tram. We accidentally travelled one stop too far, but this gave us the opportunity to walk back towards the park while enjoying views of the hospital along the way.
From the park, we had lovely views of the Yarra River and Flemington Racecourse. Some participants enjoyed walking around the park, while others used the outdoor exercise equipment.
Using the Meals Subsidy provided by the City of Melbourne, we prepared a simple picnic lunch with sushi rolls and side dishes bought in the city and enjoyed lunch together.
After lunch, we sang along to the ukulele and harmonica played by some of our participants. It was a lovely and enjoyable way to spend the afternoon together.
